From NY Daily News:
Approximately 200 members of the media were lined up outside Beaver Stadium late Tuesday morning for Penn State football coach Joe Paterno's 12:30 pm weekly press conference when the rumors started flying: The university was going to cancel the event.
Minutes later, sports information director Jeff Nelson arrived outside the stadium. The orderly line collapsed; scores of reporters, photographers and cameramen jostled for position along a police barrier that separated Nelson from the media.
Nelson read a brief statement: "Due to ongoing legal circumstances centered around the recent allegations and charges, we have determined that today's press conference cannot be held and will not be rescheduled," Nelson said. He said he would not issue any further statements.
What, someone got raped? |
Pretty cowardly for PSU not to face the music and answer the basics.
ReplyDeleteReally weak to cancel on short notice, too. What, they called the lawyers right before go time?
May they all reap what they've sewn.
