Who needs Santa when you have the FDA? The government agency handed boozy partygoers everywhere a big holiday gift: It recently OK'd a hangover pill called Blowfish. The over-the-counter tablets, designed to be taken upon waking, Alka Seltzer-style, contain some not-too-foreign ingredients: 1,000 milligrams of aspirin, 120 milligrams of caffeine, and a stomach-calming element. It's supposed to provide relief in as little as 15 minutes, reports the New York Daily News.
That's because, as its creator explains, "the magic of the effervescent tablet is that it hits your system much faster than getting a cup of coffee, taking an antacid, and taking some aspirin separately." The bad news is it won't likely be on shelves until after New Year's Eve, at which point it will retail for $2.99 a dose (frequent tipplers can save with the $11.99 six-pack).
It won't save you from bad decisions |
Fuck yeah. How the fuck has it taken this long for a hangover pill to come out? I mean jesus christ haven't we as humans been drinking long enough to think about a pill for a minute? Well, I guess now it'll be all good. But after New Years? They are probably missing the time of year when they would do about 75% of their annual sales.
All I know is I'll be first in line to try this shit out. And it better work.
