First, the Coen brothers are brilliant writers. I think they should write books but clearly they are addicted to actually making money for a living.
This remake of an old classic was awesome. I just saw Tron and fell back in love with Jeff Bridges, and this movie proves he is worthy of my man-crush. He is both bad ass and the old washed-up cowboy with a shady past. The dialogue is as you would expect. Far and above any other type of movie. Matt Damon is pretty awesome as the token Texas Ranger.

The main character is a fourteen year-old girl who is the only downfall of the movie. She haggles with the precision of a shrewd, seasoned salesman. It is hardly believable. And she constantly mentions to various outlaws and thugs about her "having a good lawyer." What the fuck? Real outlaws would just plug you in the head if you even mentioned a lawyer or judge. That is really the only surreal part of a truly gritty story. And the girl also makes continued reference to Jeff Bridges' character having "grit". A little cheesy, but an awesome movie. I'd say a must see for anyone who appreciates good dialogue and a good cowboy-revenge story.
All in all, the Coen brothers showed some balls remaking a John Wayne classic, and they came through and didn't embarrass themselves by fucking up a classic.
