So tomorrow Ja Rule is surrendering to authorities to start a 2-year prison sentence for a gun charge from 2007.
From the NY Daily News:
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, is set to surrender on Wednesday to begin a two-year sentence after pleading guilty to a 2007 charge of attempted gun possession. Police discovered the firearm when they pulled over the rapper's car after a concert at NYC's Beacon Theatre.
"Laws are laws," he said. "These are the laws of New York City and they're very strict laws ... you obviously know that when you're in the city of New York."
He went on to say that he does believe the gun laws in New York City are "a little bit extreme" but that once the gun was found, "there's nothing I could really do but own up to the situation and man up, and take the charge."
I don't care what anyone says. At one point Ja Rule was the man. He did all sorts of songs with Ashanti and he was livin' it up. Now he'll be living it up in the shower at a prison somewhere. Salute to you Ja Rule, good luck in the pen.
