From Newser:
The explosive Penn State sex abuse scandal involving former longtime defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is spreading, as other members of the football program and school are being accused of covering up multiple suspected incidents over the years, reports the New York Daily News. Longtime coach Joe Paterno told the school's athletic director about an alleged incident involving Sandusky and a 10-year-old boy in 2002, but did not go to the police. “For him to take such a non-aggressive approach, and for him to allow Sandusky to remain part of the program, is troubling," said one legal expert. “But the bigger problem is the number of people who knew about it and covered it up."
Penn State's athletic director and the school’s vice president for business and finance have both been charged with perjury and failure to report the allegations, and face up to seven years in prison. Both are quitting in the face of the charges.
Investigators charge that the school's hushing up of the allegations allowed Sandusky—who has been charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse—to molest more boys for seven more years. “It is simply common—and ethical and moral—sense" to report such behavior, said a Boston lawyer who has represented hundreds of child sex abuse victims. "Predators don’t stop until they are caught.”
Smooth move, Joe Pa. Jesus man this shit boggles my mind. Like how can you morally not tell the cops your defensive coach is a fucking pedophile? Once it comes out just how many admins at the college knew about this shit Penn State is fucked. I mean I think the NCAA constantly over-reaches its bounds when it takes away scholarships for players receiving benefits but to me this is 100 times worse.
And it has come out that there many have been many more victims, that'll happen when no one turns the sick fuck in.
Fucking disgusting.
