The State of Pats Nation

So with that fucking mess to end the regular season on Sunday, the Patriots got the number one seed in the AFC but really they are a more than weak #1.

The defense has been a point of contention for the last few years. This year it could cost us the Superbowl. But here's the reality. The Patriots can still win the big one and get the crew another ring even with a dismal defense. Because the AFC just plain sucks this year. Who should the Pats be scared of in the playoffs? The Steelers are the only all-around team that scares me going into the post-season. And even they have a quarterback whose health is questionable. The defense just needs to bend and not break and Tommy and company should be able to throw up enough points to keep us ahead.

He's not the problem

But how did we get to this? Belichick started out as the defensive guru. And now I think the problem is he is focused more on the offensive side of the ball but we still don't have a true defensive coordinator. I mean we can't get any kind of fucking pass rush, the secondary has spots of being okay but more often than not Arrington and McCourty get burned off the line and don't even turn their idiot heads to see the rock coming to their receiver. Real good technique boys.

Chung will help the shitty secondary...hopefully

Having Patrick Chung back is key, receivers were actually catching balls and then getting laid the fuck out. That's what a safety is there for. If he can be productive and help keep the db's from getting burned the secondary might come together and play decently well. And with Brandon Spikes back that should help with run defense. Hopefully these two can help stop the leaky fucking rowboat that is our defense from sinking.

We just need them good enough to smash the Steelers and then whoever comes out of the NFC. Any other team won't be able to keep up with our offense.
