Okay so of course there is a video that has gone viral of Rutgers student, 20-year-old Elliott Marx, being punched repeatedly as he is arrested by several police officers. It isn't full-on Rodney King type stuff, but you can clearly see one officer cock back and throw like three or four punches while Marx is already down.
Of course now that the video is out they are going to "launch an investigation." And for once I don't really care that this isn't going to lead to anything. The officers responded to a fight in a parking lot not far from Rutgers and apparently when they arrived there was an altercation involving Marx jumping on an officer's back.
But still, in this age of Youtube and viral videos and iPhones you can go from having a normal day to being under investigation in about ten seconds, cops seem to not be learning this lesson that they of all people should know, there is always a fucking camera on you.
I mean, three punches for jumping on a cop's back seems reasonable to me. There is one surefire rule for getting arrested, do not touch the cop. They will beat the shit out of you, and this cop was actually smart and you can really only see him cock back because there are too many bodies in the way.
Marx is charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a police officer and obstruction. Full story at the Wall Street Journal.
